The deep black-purple color is distinguished by aromas of blackberry liqueur, notes of black cherry jam and spices, characterized by vanilla that melt into a seductive bouquet. This cuvée has an amazing complexity and a taste that always reveals more surprise and richness. Try this great wine with the following dishes: Cote du Boeuf with chanterelles, game, black pudding with apple, Camenbert melted from the oven with Provençal herbs and truffles.
After several generations of producing one Vacqueyras, Henri Bungener started looking for three different Vacqueyras. Each cuvée has its own personality and requires separate work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. It is from this discovery that the Fruit Sauvage, Carmin Brillant and Lao Muse cuvées were developed to make the most of these so specific terroirs.
Cuvée Lao Muse comes from vineyards high on the hill. It is a lot drier here, which means that the grapes produce much more concentrated juice. Also found with here shell fossils in the soil. The wine is made from 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah from vines aged 30 to 50 years. The grapes are picked by hand and sorted selectively for their quality. The fermentation is traditional with a natural fermentation with wild yeast. This is followed by a long maceration, for 2-3 months. Maturation takes 12 to 18 months in 1 year old oak barrels.
