Ella Reserva Syrah has a deep red color with purple sparkles. On the nose it has aromas of eucalyptus, mint and violet, plus some blackberries and cherries. The spicy touch and freshness appear on the palate, where it also shows softness, elegant ripe tannins and a pleasant finish along with a medium body.
Harvested early and traditional winemaking is the guideline for this wine. Fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures, which gives the wine a beautiful structure and vibrant colors through skin contact. The malolactic fermentation took place spontaneously and the maturation in French oak took 8 months.
In 1996, Bernard Dauré persuaded his friends, Jean Pierre Cayard and Claude Florensa, to come up with a crazy idea and create a wine estate with him in Apalta, Chile. The girls of the three families soon fell in love with the country, in the Colchagua Valley, which is just a two-hour drive south of Santiago, the country's capital.
The girls, "Las Niñas", took over the work, which took about three years ... and planted 160 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, Camenere, Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache Noir, Merlot and Chardonnay, while Mathias Klotz designed the cellar and built.
The Las Niñas vineyard has firm roots in Apalta and with each passing day they question the modernity of the wines that are the fruit of this land. Ecological production is a duty and the search for balance is renewed every year at the vintage. The freshness of their wines testifies to their eternal youth.
