Majueolos de Callejo has a purple cherry color. The scent is complex and very aromatic. This wine has a great elegance with notes of plum, blueberry, blackberry, pepper, thyme, cocoa powder, fine leather, leaves and aromatic woods. The center of the flavor is very juicy, big, fresh and has great structure and balance. Sensations of red and black fruits fill the mouth in combination with flowers, undergrowth, cinnamon, nutmeg and confectioner's notes. Long finish primary, both creamy and spicy.
Vintage 2016 starts with a very rainy winter. It registers 250 mm of well-distributed rain in January, February and March. April and May also had abundant rainfall, giving the vineyards a good water reserve. The summer months were dry and hot as usual, but winter and spring rainfall slowed the vineyard cycle. Although the heat of August and September did manage to push the harvest, which was picked in the first two weeks of October, forward a bit. The grapes were well ripe with an abundant quantity and excellent quality due to the thinning of the bunches in the summer and the absence of rain during the harvest.
Aging: 18 months in oak barrels.
