Vondst at Hubrecht Duijker (July 2017)

Within the Lugana area, the Pratello domain, which is housed in a pontifical villa, has 100 hectares of land. The temperature here is tempered by the nearby Lake Garda. In addition to olives and fruit, grapes are grown organically in 45 hectares. Viticoltore Vincenzo Bertola makes characterful wines here. For his refreshing Catulliano 2016 he only used turbiana, a white variety that showed genetic similarity to the verdicchio of Marche. The wine smells somewhat floral and tastes of slightly spiced white fruit (I associate it with stews) and a pinch of spices. I wrote it already: character.

The big Hamersma 2018

Fixed value since a number of harvest years. The 2016 somewhat lighter and more darteler than the previous crop year. Apple from a confectionary apple pie, the sweet and sour, tamed wild peach, small bitter, very lightly grape juice and a sneeze of white pepper.
